<reviewbody>I enjoyed this movie. the story is about a murder which would have stay unpunished but for the spirits of the jungle. Although it may not be the orignal plan of its makers, you can see it as a good "parody" .</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Could not really class this as a "horror" movie - wasn't scary enough. Reminded me more of plots for Grimm's fairytales, which I consider more gruesome. It was somewhat predictable. However, it was good light entertainment, and a pleasure to watch. Well acted, with a slightly creepy atmoshpere added by the native "witch" servant. The only characters that were stereotyped were the local workmen/villages, but they only got two appearances of only a couple of minutes. It was had to know if I felt sympathy for the protagonist, or that he received just punishment. Just who was the evil one in this movie? Having characters with both good and dark sides makes for a good movie.
Watch it for light entertainment, but don't expect too many chills up the spine.

<reviewbody>Dull and somewhat plodding. It is well-acted though. Primarily it lacks surprises.

The jungle that is supposed to be intoxicating to Burr and threatening to everyone else is sadly lacking ..

The jungle that is "smiling, frowning, inviting, grand, mean, insipid, or savage, and always mute with an air of whispering, `Come and find out" to quote Joseph Conrad!

Woody Strode of 'The Professionals' makes a brief appearance.. </reviewbody>
